  •  In SQL Server Reporting Services, the prompt of a parameter is a static string at the run time, we cannot change it dynamically.

  • Can you give us an example of what you mean? Parameters can be populated from a sql query, can have default values pre-defined, or can be daisy chained from the selection of a pervious parameter.

  • the prompts are the single permanent label you see to the left of the drop down param boxes.

one of our reports allows sorting by salesmen or manager.  Both the salesmen and manager params allow multiple values from param drop downs.

This is pretty easy for the main and secondary datasets.

but I thought it would be cool to dynamically flop param 1 and param2 prompts to sometimes request the salesman param first and sometimes the manager param first depending on the sort intended by the user.  Flopping the datasets would be easy.  But the prompt seems permanent, ie not "settable" via expression.
