Edge browser drag and drop files not working RRS feed

  • Question

  • When I try to drag a file in from Windows Explorer to the browser, it just shows a "not allowed" symbol

It works in Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, and Opera, but not Edge, what am I doing wrong?

  • Yep...doesn't work for my Win10 Enterprise installation also. Kind of silly that the browser doesn't support it when MS is pushing so hard for SharePoint Online and Hybrid configurations in the enterprise.

  • I'm seeing the same thing on Windows 10 Pro - Drag and Drop works in IE 11 but not in the latest version of Edge.

  • Same here, it is kind of silly as we very much promote MSFT stack and then for the Edge Brower not being able to drag and drop is bad! So now we have to tell our customers again - use Chrome!

  • Same problem here, however, Micorosft's documentation says it is supported (see https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh673539(v=vs.85).aspx). Not sure what drag and drop APIs have implemented but all drag and drop javascript plugins I try do not work with Edge. Shame!
