Move from FIM 2010 R2 SP1 evaluation to licensed RRS feed

  • hi all,

    i will install FIM 2010 R2 SP1 with the evaluation copy, can i make it a licensed version with out uninstalling? also i want to deploy another copy as a DR is that possible with the evaluation copy and what about the license when i want to incense both sites, also i will use the SharePoint 2013 foundation version is this require a license also?

    first, no SharePoint Foundation does not require a license.

    From what i know there is no way to switch FIM from eval to licensed without reinstall.

    But reinstalling is no complicated think, you will just Switch the binaries and reuse the databases, like when doing Migration to a new Version.

    License for FIM depends on your solution and if you want to use Portal and Service.

    You Need a license for every Server on which a FIM component runs. In Addition FIM Portal/Service Need a CAL for every managed user. SyncEngine can be installed as a cold-standby and is included in the (first) SyncEngine license as far as I remember.
