SCOM 2012 Service Level Dashboard shows MOMUIGeneratedSLAxxxxxxx instead of the SLO name - SOLVED RRS feed

  • Question

  • We had an issue with SCOM 2012 SP1 where Service Level Dashboards for some users (Swedish) would display MOMUIGeneratedSLAxxxxxxx instead of the SLO name in the dashboard.

This isn't a good-looking feature if you want to display these dashboards to management..

    After looking at other threads
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/systemcenter/en-US/0b5f40eb-604b-41c6-aaa1-afccf8447faf/scom-2007-r2-sld-20-shows-momuigeneratedslaxxxxxxx-instead-of-name-of-slo-for-1-user
and looking into the MP's there is a fairly easy workaround to solve this.

It is all realted to the language setting in the MP and on the client where the Operations Console is started.

It seems that if the MP contains other language sections than for ENU (ex: Swedish) and it matches the clients language, the KPI-name translation fails as it might not be present in a localized form..

    The workaround for unsealed MP's:

    1. Export the MP
    2. Open the MP (if unsealed) in notepad.
    3. Go to the row that has the text <LanguagePack ID="ENU" IsDefault="false>
    4. Change this to <LanguagePack ID="ENU" IsDefault="true">
    5. Import the MP

If the KPI's are retreived from other unsealed MP's, perform the workaround on these as well.

Now the names will display correctly :)

I hope this is of help to anyone :)
To me (and likely anyone outside the US) this is a very irritating bug, hope it gets fixed in a CU..
    / Jon
