Modern Backup Storage Maximum Volume Size RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am attempting to choose a hardware platform for a DPM 2016 system. New install of Server 2016 and DPM 2016.

I understand that there is a maximum size limitation for Modern Backup Storage.

This documentation describes the requirements for MBS as follows:

Modern Backup Storage     You must use Volumes.

A single DPM server supports up to 120TB of storage.

Does this mean any one volume must not exceed 120TB? For example, can I add three 120TB volumes to DPM 2016?

Or does it mean that the sum of all volumes must not exceed 120TB? For example, would I be limited to two 60TB volumes? Or a single 120TB volume?
