Quickest way to get from (incorrectly installed) Office Professional 2007 Plus to the 'standard' Professional version? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Everyone,

I have discovered that Microsoft Office Professional 2007 Plus has been accidentally loaded onto about 40 computers where I work (it was loaded on by way of an image file that was deployed by PXE).

I now need to remove the Plus version of this software and reinstall the 'standard' Professional version.

Alternatively maybe I can change the existing Plus installation by removing the extra features that come with Plus, and then changing the product key?

If anybody can think of any way to get this done - particularly if it can be done 'automatically' - your suggestion(s) will be greatly appreciated.

    Kind Regards,

  • PROPLUS is a VL channel product, whereas PRO is a Retail channel product. AFAIK you can't reconfigure across channels.

I'm pretty sure you'll have to uninstall PROPLUS then install PRO, I've never seen a supported method to switch Office channels.

Don [doesn't work for MSFT, and they're probably glad about that ;]
