Hi,
What do you mean "wont let me open anything on my account"? Can you open Word app normally on PC? Or the issue is related to the document opening in Word app?
If the issue is related to the Word app, go to Control Panel > Programs and Features, select Office, click Change > Repair (Online Repair for click-to-run version).
Check if you can create a new document in Word and re-open it. Provide more details about your issue for further troubleshooting.
Best Regards,
Winnie Liang

If you mean that you have an Office installation provided by your college, you have to ask the IT support how to sign in, install and activate Office.

Some schools pay for students to have downloaded applications on their desktops; most pay for a less-expensive version that only uses the online apps. Do you know which your school is using? https://products.office.com/en-us/student/office-in-education
There is a 4-year deep discount subscription available for some students as well.
