POSReady 2009 installation issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • All,

I am trying to install the software on a MICROS Point of Sale piece of equipment.

New baremetal hard drive. Did not have an external DVD so I formatted a 128GB USB Flash Drive and made it Bootable.

I can start the setup fine, and it gets to through the first stage and goes to reboot. I remove the Flash Drive as instructed and all USB Devices (Keybd, Mouse)

it goes through a normal looking POST and then stops at a blank screen with a flashing cursor.

I have tried installing WIN7 Pro on the device, but found out that the Graphics Controller Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME will not support WIN7.

My concern is that this controller will not support POSReady either.

    Any suggestions/comments appreciated!!!!

  • POSReady 2009 is based on Windows XP so the graphics controller driver should work. Have you tried installing using a USB-to-DVD drive?
