    I have problem with vista update a few weeks. I'm using vista ultimate x64 sp2.

    I trying to install this updates;
    Realtek - Network - Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller
    The 2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 2 (SP2)
    Update for Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 Junk Email Filter (KB970012)

    This are error messages;
    Code A97
    Code 80070641
    Code 80070103

    I found solution,

    this problem caused Vista Sp2.
    When i uninstall SP2 updates installed correctly.

    Thanks for sharing  your solution to Windows Update Error Code 80070641,  and the corresponding Windows Update Error Code A 97.

    Without any success I have for some time tried to address this issue to the community, receiving all kind of confusing answers

    The Update Junk Mail filter KB 972691 denied being installed, later also Office Service Pack 2 ,a nd Office System Update KB 967642 both giving Error Code 80070641

    No regsitry cleaner has been used. Temporarily stopping Windows Installer did not help.  Neither did Uninstalling / reinstalling / Repairing  Microsoft Office and Outlook did not help a bit, giving Application Error Code 1704.

    Then suddenly a new Windows Update Error Code A97 popped up and I dediced to check further before giving up.

    Inspired by your suggestion, as a desperate last action I decided to Uninstall Vista Service Pack 2

    It sure made it. All Windows Updates are now installed correctly!

    My question is, however; should I reinstall Vista SP2 and hope for the better?  Or just leave it be........

    What do you say Microsoft VISTA task force ?
