DHCP assigning IPs out of the address range RRS feed

  • Question

  • So, why does DHCP assign IP addresses that aren't defined in the address range for distribution?
My address range is 192.168.2.60 - 3.35 but I have several leases that are 192.168.2.41, 192.168.3.81, etc...
I've reserved several addresses for servers or printers and I see that those addresses are being leased to client workstations by DHCP. I wanted to add an exclusion but I'm not able to because those addresses aren't in the scope. So I guess my question is, if they already aren't in the scope of IPs allowed to be distributed, how can I stop them from being assigned (and essentially duplicated)?

Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

  • Hi,

What is your subnet mask of the scope? Is it a superscope?

I have several leases that are 192.168.2.41, 192.168.3.81, etc...

    Are these IP addresses reservations?
