Regional Settings, customsettings.ini and unattend.xml using SCCM RRS feed

  • Question

  • Greetings,

      We are deploying Windows 7 using MDT 2012 U1 integrated with CM2012 (soon to be R2).

      We would like to regionalise to en-AU.

      Currently I see in the task sequence that it runs a script called regionalsettings.wsf derived from some blog site that creates an xml file and runs control panel.

      Surely regionalisation is easier than that?

      I have the following lines in customsettings.ini:

    UserLocale=en-AU
    SystemLocale=en-AU
    KeyboardLocale=0c09:00000409
    UILanguage=en-AU
    GeoID=12

      With native MDT I recall there was some configure step that applied customsettings.ini to unattend.xml?

      In SCCM integrated this doesnt seem to be available. In which case do I just edit unattend.xml and put my regional specs (in three spots) and refer to that in my "Apply operating system" step?

    Thanks

    David Z

  • If you run a MDT integrated task sequence the machine will get the settings from you customsettings.ini file, you don't need to do anything with the unattend.xml file.

  • Well I tried modifying the unattend.xml in my settings package and the "apply windows" step failed and said it couldnt read the xml. just putting the values in customsettings.ini does not work as my machines still end up with english(us).
