Project Server 2010 Time sheet Approval RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

We are using project server 2010. There is a requirement for the following scenarios, how to configure it.

Resource A and B are the timesheet manager for C and D respectively. If ‘C’ submit the timesheet to ‘B’ using browse option ( i.e. instead of ‘A’) it should come to ‘A’ for final approval also  if ‘D’ submit the timesheet to ‘A’ instead of ‘B’, it should forwarded / redirected to ‘B’ for final approval.

    Thanks in advance,

    Arun

You have two choices on how to set up this configuration:

    1.  If you do not want Resource C to be able to send the Timesheet to Manager B for approval, and mandate that the Timesheet must go to Manager A directly, your Project Server administrator would need to select the Fixed Approval Routing option on the Timesheet Settings and Defaults page in PWA.  When your Project Server administrator enables this option, resources will not longer see the Browse button when submitting a Timesheet for approval.

    2.  If you actually want resources to submit their Timesheet to one manager, who must approve it, and then have the system send the Timesheet to a second manager for approval, you will need to set up a chain of timesheet approvers using the steps detailed in the following FAQ:

    Hope this helps.
