Shutdown (and restart etc) missing from logon screen after uninstall of SteadyState RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    Since I uninstalled SteadyState, the button/options for shutting down, restarting, sleeping etc the computer which should appear in the bottom-right corner of the logon screen, is missing. I have looked for the appropriate registry options for re-enabling but so far have been unsuccessful.

    If anybody knows how to fix this problem i'd appreciate your help, thanks.

  • Hi,

    Is this registry value set to 1?

    [HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\system]
    "shutdownwithoutlogon"=dword:1

  • Hi there,

    Thanks for the reply; I actually found that resolution but I didn't have the "shutdownwithoutlogon" entry in the registry. Since seeing you suggesting the same thing, and I don't know why I didn't just do this before, I just created the DWORD value myself and it did fix the issue.

    So thanks.
