DART boot image coexistence with other boot images RRS feed

  • Question

  • We plan to implement DART boot image (WinPE) in our SCCM environment. For now we have only two boot images: 32 and 64 bits with proper hardware drivers. As far as I know and tested the PXE boot process via SCCM took only the latest modified boot image (lets assume almost all of hour machines use 64 bit boot image). So what is the best way to manage it in SCCM? Via a task sequence which deploy DART and has associated boot image of DART? As we have 100 Mbps network in production environment the size of boot image is important for us and we prefer to use as default our current 64 bit boot image

Answers

  • Integrating DART into your boot image isn't going to make that much of difference.

Even if you have 100 Mbps network infrastructure.

Have you looked at how much the size of your x64 boot image increases if you do add the DART components?

  • Why don't you integrate DaRT into the existing boot images?

  • As I wrote - size of the boot image is very important in our case where we have 100 Mbps network. The smaller boot image the better and faster
