    I Have a documnet that has multible sections for each State and in the TOC I am asked to display the page numbers as MN1, MN2, CA1, CA2, WI1, WI2, WI3.  In the footer I can just put the state identifier next to the page number and i am goot there, but that doesn't carry up to the TOC.

    Also if I change a page they want me to put "Rev. 03/05/12"  the revesion date of that page only in the footer, I find if I put anything in the footer it repeats across all pages in the current section. Is there any way to do this, without having to goto another product?

    The TOC can only include the numbering from a built-in heading style (or from a SEQ field). See http://word.mvps.org/faqs/numbering/chapternumber.htm (and http://wordfaqs.mvps.org/TOCTips.htm#ChapterNumbering). In other words, I don’t see a way to do what you are trying to accomplish.
