Can we configure SSO for MOSS2007 site on standalone machine? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am trying to configure SSo for my moss 2007 site. I created one account on my machine by right click on 'My Computer' icon and added same account in central site to run service account section. Then I tried to 'Manage service setting for SIngle sign on' link and added one group which is inheruited from above account. but it is showing me below error

A Single Sign-on error has occurred.  Please contact an administrator.  Details: Could not find domain controller for this domain

My machine is not in network and having any domain. So SSO is not possible on stand alone machine or can anyone please suggest me any solution

  • I've had this problem on single box Virtual Machines.  You'll need to add a domain controller via Active Directory.  Can you give us some more detail regarding your system set-up?

  • Yes, I am also using the virtual machine having all softwares installed which are required for MOSS2007. My base desktop is having windows XP professional and VM is having windows server 2003. My base machine is connected via LAN in my company which are connected by Active Directory. But in my VM, there is no such Active Directory available.

I would like to know how can I add domain controller via Active Directory in VM.
