Product key not validating when using Windows ICD to create clean install media

    Question

  • I am trying out Windows ICD as an option for deploying windows 10 in our enterprise. When i build the image I am placing my product key in the image - Setup - ProductKey area of the customization, and the image builds fine.

However, when I go to use the bootable USB Drive It starts ok then stops and says it could not Validate the product Key. I have double checked to make sure my product key is correct. Any suggestions?

  • Hi,

ProductKey contains settings that specify which edition of Windows to install. The product key that you purchase determines which edition you can install.

Please confirm your product key is matched with your Windows installation image file.

If it's, upload the setupact.log and setuperr.log for analysis. It may under:

    windows~bt\source\panther
    or
    %systemroot%\Panther

Zip them and then upload to OneDrive. Afterwards, share the link here.
