Shared mailbox (Exchange Online) with archive on-premises

Hybrid configuration with Exchange 2013. The customer wants to keep som archives on-prem and the associated mailboxes in Exchange Online. Is this possible?

No, only archive mailboxes in the cloud are supported. And Shared mailboxes need a license in order to have archive, which kinda negates their main benefit.
