  • I just got a new laptop and I found a disc for Office 2007 but it is lacking some features. Is there any way I could upgrade for free?

  • Hi,

If you have a retail copy of the office, then you will not be able to upgrade for free. However if the a Volume license copy then you should be able to upgrade from whomever you obtaining the VL from. If you are using Office 365 subscription, then you entitle to the latest version upgrade.

  • Hi,

the only possibility to free upgrade from Office 2007 to the higher Version is only for Volume licensing customers with active SA(Software Assurance).

    thanks

  • My dad has an Office 365 subscription. Does this mean I can upgrade?

  • Hi,

With my dad's O365 Subscription, which he is using on another computer, can I still get Office 2016?

Also, my dad wants to get Office on his new computer that he will be getting soon. Could I use a subscription on 2+ devices?

  • Hi,

for O365 licensing, One user can have it on up to five machines, not five users per license. it means that your dad's O365 Subscription can be installed on 5 devices but only for him as user. for you, you Need to purchase an O365 subscription.

    thanks
