Radio via USB launches Windows Media Player and gets it stuck RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have this radio: JVC FS-GD7

This radio allows me to connect a USB cable to it (by which it takes sound input to play through it's speakers), and connect the other end to my PC. Audio then played on my PC (such as playing mp3 files via Windows Media Player) will play through my radio.

Recently, the following problem started happening... When I plug the USB cable into my PC... If I then try to play an mp3, by double-clicking it, etc...  WM Player will never open. I discovered the problem... Each time I plug or unplug the USB cable to my PC, the wmplayer.exe launches automatically. I don't see it on the screen, but it shows in the task manager.

I know that if I manually kill the wmplayer.exe process, I can then play using Windows media player fine. But question is: How do I prevent the connection/disconnection of the USB cable to my PC from launching the wmplayer.exe?
