DPM 2010 and 2008 r2 file server cluster RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am building my first Windows 2008 r2 cluster. It is only a file server using an iscsi san. We are running Data Protection Manager 2010 with the roll up installed. Is their anything you need to do specially for backing up a Data Protection Manager cluster with Data Protection Manager. Do you put an agent on both servers? Any pointers would be most helpful.

    Best wishes

    Michael

  • Michael,

Yes, agent needs to be installed on all the nodes of the Cluster. Else You will not be able to protect the resources of the cluster like File Share. DPM automatically picks the node where resource is active and backs the data.
