guest restrictions RRS feed

  • Question

  • When I create an account with guest priviliges, steadystate won't allow me to set restrictions as with user (limited) accounts.  Steadystate recognizes the guest name but gives "in order to initialize this profile...enter password.  When I do I get "element not found" and stops.  Why can't I restrict guest privileges?  Steadystate recognizes user accounts created by steadystate and computer management but not guest accounts created thru computer management.  I don't see how to use steadystate to create a guest account.

  • Hi Stephen, we cannot use Guest account on Windows SteadyState. I'd like to inform you that it is by design that Guest and Administrator account cannot be "fully" recognized by Windows SteadyState due to potential security and usability issue. Thank you for your understanding.
