  • No ideas from anyone... should I just pay PSS to look at it?

  • Have you ran the ConfigureSharePoint  utility on the Sharepoint Front end server and passed the Sharepoint farm administrator username and password credentials? Find more details at:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd441708.aspx

  • Hi Praveen,

Its not possible to even backup any sharepoint data without the ConfigureSharePoint utility. The problem is with catalog generation of the backed up data.

    Cheers

  • Hi Vladin,

Unfortunately not. My solution was to remove DPM from the equation and use a different product. We will be trying again as we migrate to sharepoint 2010.

We have heard this issue with cataloging from other customers as well and we are investigating this. I shall update this thread once we root-cause this.

  • Hello Manda,

Do you have any update on this? This is a intermitten problem for me but I'm sure would like to get it resolved before I get a call to restore an item in Sharepoint.

    I am running version 2.0.8861.0

    Thanks

  • we had an issues where there was a mysite corrupted and caused the catalog creation failure. We checked the logs and as the catalog job always failed at the same content_database we manually exported all the mysites in this database into sharepoint. That way we found out that one mysite was corrupted.

After we deleted this one the catalog went through just fine. The backup job in DPM went through just fine. So that is quite strange but that is what helped in our case.
