Unable to Assign Clould Resources

    Question

  • After getting the setup complete and importing all the VMM information I am now setting up the first tenant. I was able to create and approve the first tentant request and all the SCVMM information appears in the Cloud Services section of the Configuration Items in Service manager. The problem I have now when I try to assign cloud resources is that in the VMM Clould section the VMM Server drop down is empty so I can't complete that activity. I have tried this with multiple user accounts including one that is an admin in both SCSM, SCVMM, both Applicatoin Administator and Administrator on the OS itself.

    Any ideas ?

  • Ok, so I assume you`re testing out the CSSP which was just released, right?

Can you confirm that the runbooks you imported in Orchestrater are synced and visible in SCSM?

If not, force the synchronization in Service Manager and try the operation again.

  • You are correct in that the sync was failing with Orchestrator. However I resolved that so the run books show up now (4 of them) and the boxes are still blank. I even created a new subscription request and got the same behavior.

  • My Operations Manager components were also failing so I did not get a CI for the VMM server. Once I got the CI it was back to normal.

  • I am facing same issue. My Runbooks are synced and visible in SCSM and status shows Active but i am still unable to add my vmm server while assigning cloud resources.

    Any solutions?

  • Any pointers on troubleshooting? I am faced with same issue. My Runbooks are synced and visible in SCSM and the status shows Active. SCOM 2012 Connector has been synced. SCVMM 2012 Connector has been synced. SCVMM 2012 Roll up has been applied. SCOM 2012 Roll up has been applied. Orchestrator 2012 Runbooks are checked in. I have flaten the OS twice. I have uninstalled/installed System_Center_Cloud_Services_Process_Pack 6 times. Uninstalling Orchestrator and watching very closly the order I did the installs. I don't see any errors. I don't see the runbooks executed. When can I look for errors, missconfigurations? How can I troubleshoot?

  • Thank you Kristian Nese: The link http://www.damianflynn.com/2012/05/16/cspp-2012-rtm-deployment/ got me working.

I was missing the Microsoft.SystemCenter.VirtualMachineManager.2012.Discovery . I did not see in the list of the SCSM SCOM Connector. Although I had already imported in SCOM. So I had to delete the SCSM SCOM Connector and build from scratch and the missing MPs showed up. I selected all and then synced. I went into my Pending Work Items and in the Assign Cloud Resources wizard I now have a pick list in a VMM Server & VMM Cloud. Don't know how I got messed up. Thought I did in order. Now all seems well.

    Thanks.
