Windows Azure Pack - Virtual Disk hide on Standalone VM Gallery RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear,

I'm currently working on implementing an private cloud inside my business.

To be clear with our users, I would like to hide the "Virtual Hard Disk" from the "Standalone VM" without deleting the hardware profiles (Users should always be able to resize their VM's)

How can I delete/hide this "column" in the "Standalone VM" Gallery ?

    Thanks for your help

  • I found the solution,

To avoid any link between the hardware profile and the Disk, you have to set the OS of the VHD(x) on "none".

Your template will be always functionning and you will not see the disk in the selection pane anymore.

  • As described in WAP UR9 you can hide disks by tag "WAPHIDDEN" (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3129786)

Any way disk will be visible in attach section and powershell, so user can attach them to his VM, but can not boot from it.
