Configure Radius and Accounting Servers RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dears,

I'm new to Radius configuration, i have some concerns regarding a deployment:

    • Can we create two radius servers as HA and HOW?
    • Can we have two radius servers and two Accounting servers for the same domain?

  • Hi,

    Thanks for your question.

    • Yes, you can set up NPS Proxy for HA. Please refer to the link below:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/networking/technologies/nps/nps-manage-proxy-lb

    • NPS provides the ability to log RADIUS accounting data, such as user authentication and accounting requests, in three formats: IAS format, database-compatible format, and Microsoft SQL Server logging. Please refer to the link below:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/networking/technologies/nps/nps-plan-server

    Best regards,

  • Hello,

    Sorry for the late reply,

Agree for the proxy server HA, but can we have two accounting servers HA? Active/passive?

    Sorry for the late reply.

NPS server doesn't support two servers HA.
