SharePoint 2013 for Video Document Managment

Question
-
Hi All,
I am new to SharePoint. I would like to know whether Sharepoint can be used as a document management system to handle millions of video files?? archiving, indexing, retriving, ability to integrate with video streaming system?
Does SharePoint have the ability to stream videos to the clients? what are other options for video streaming?

if you have millions of videos, i think its not best to use SharePoint as a storage, rather user sharepoint as front end. i.e use 3rd party tool to store the video and stream into SharePoint.
check this blog, he tried to explain the limitation of SharePoint in video.

SharePoint 2013 has an HTML5 video webpart that can allow you to stream videos, but it isn't the best system to stream videos. Last time I looked into streaming was with SharePoint 2010 using IIS Smooth Streaming. I'm not sure if that is still an option with 2013.
Another issue with using SharePoint is that it has a 2GB file size limit, and of course many videos today go well above that (especially high quality videos). There are RBS providers, such as Metalogix StoragePoint, which allow you to go beyond 2GB, but that isn't native Microsoft functionality.
