Pull local groups and their members RRS feed

  • Question

  • I need to pull the local groups and members of each group for about 400 servers. I was wondering if there's an easier way to do that than manually going into each one and checking.

We're trying to avoid having to buy software for this and I thought maybe it could be done via powershell or cmd prompt.

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

  • Please review the following;  This forum is for scripting questions rather than script requests

You can look in the Gallery for pre-written scripts that might solve your issue: http://gallery.technet.microsoft.com

  • Thanks. I'll take a look.

Do you know if this is even possible via powershell or cmd prompt?

  • Why wouldn't it be possible?  There are many third party tools that will do this.

Start by asking your network admins if they have tools.  Most organizations have tools or script designed for their networks.

The Gallery is full of scripts that acquire local information.
