Windows Installer service could not be accessed (Error 1719) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Every time I run the setup file of PASW Statistics 18 (SPSS 18) on Win7 Ultimate (32 bit), I get the following message: "Error 1719. Windows Installer service could not be accessed. ..."

As far as I know Win7 uses Windows Installer 5 which is not yet redistributable to the public.

    Could anyone help please?

  • Hi,

I would like to confirm that can you install other programs?

I would like to suggest you refer to the following link to troubleshoot the issue.

  • Sorry for the bump, but I'm having this issue, been following the directions on the link posted above, except I've hit a snag.

The second step i have to do it "b. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, expand SYSTEM, expand CurrentControlSet, expand Services, and then click MSIServer."

The only problem is that I don't have a folder named CurrentControlSet, I've got one called CurrentControlSet001, CurrentControlSet002 and CurrentControlSet003. Any idea what I should do? Modify just one? Modify all 3?

The similar issue may have different cause. You’d better submit a new thread to ask your question. This will help you fix the issue effectively.
