appv package interacting with google chrome native messaging hosts RRS feed

  • Question

  • One of my virtual package interacts with Chrome native message host

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Google\Chrome\NativeMessagingHosts

How we can make Chrome interact manifest.json in appv package

Connection group of chrome and appv package is ruled out as chrome is subject to frequent versions changes

apart from connection group , how we can make chrome interact with nativemessaging host

the virtual package is kind of screen capturing software to capture websites in chrome

    Example

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Google\Chrome\NativeMessagingHosts\com.avast.nativeproxy

    (Default)

    C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\AvastNM.json

  • I'm not sure if I understand your question but:

    1) If you want to let two separate App-V packages interact with each other, you'll need to setup a connectiongroup and add both packages

    2) If you want to let a locally installed application interact with an App-V package, you need to configure RunVirtual for the main executable(s).
