CHanges to application not pushing out

Question

Hi
I have a load of applications within SCCM, and they are working fine. What i want todo is run a quick command after each one has been installed. My plan is to add another deployment type to the application todo this. But whenever i add another deployment type to an existing application, and i update it's content. The changes aren't reflected.
If i view the application within the Software Center of a workstation. It still only shows "1 component" which as far as i'm aware is the same number of deployment types for each application.
So how can i force this application to be updated? Again, this isn't content...but adding another..."action" if you will to the application by adding another deployment type.
Hope that makes sense.

Just adding another DT does not help at all, because only one DT will be executed (if all requirements are met etc). So you would have to set up a dependency (or use a cmd/ps1 to kick off the installation and whatever has to be done afterwards - the latter will not work for existing installations though).

If you are changing the files \ folder content of the application then you need to update the content on the DP.
If you are changing anything in menus \ tabs then you do not need to update the content on the DP, once the clients update policy they will automatically see the change.
If the application is already marked as detected though then this will all just be ignored.- Edited by Richard.Knight Friday, April 10, 2015 8:28 AM

OK, so if i want to go and change how an application installs, should i just edit the initial Deployment Type, then "Update Content" for it?
