Publish application specific hostname application on http redirection trunk RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is it possible to publish an AAM-like application on a http redirection trunk? I want to use the same IP but not the https protocol?

If not, can I remove the http redirection trunk, create a regular http portal trunk, publish the AAM-like application on a separate public hostname, and redirect just a few selected url:s in the http portal trunk?

  • Hi Amig@. No need to thank. To my knowledge, there is no way to selectively redirect traffic in a redirection trunk. At least, not out-of-the-box. Not sure if there is a customization fo that.

    Sorry for being helpless

  • Hi Amig@. A redirection trunk is not aimed to redirect to "anywhere". Its purpose is to redirect an HTTP request to another HTTPS trunk. Let's say, when somebody goes to http://securesite it will automatically be redirected to https://securesite. That's said, you could configure an HTTPS trunk and then add a redirection to that trunk via a HTTP redirection trunk

  • Hi RMoros, thank you for responding.

My problem is that the redirection trunk, as far as I can discern, redirects all port 80 traffic of the IP the http redirection trunk is configured on to the chosen https trunk. Ie all traffic no matter what host header is used is redirected to port 443.

I want to use the same IP as my https trunk uses to publish a few none secure sites with own public host names  (AAM-like applications) and just redirect one or two secure sites to the https trunk, ie host header securesite1.com and securesite2.com should be redirected all other handled by the http trunk. This scenario seems impossible to achieve without another IP?

Is my only option another IP with a regular http portal trunk or just forgo the redirection of the secure sites and tell the users they have to use https?
