Get-startapps not displaying powershell.exe RRS feed

  • Question

  • Greetings,

I'm trying to test some new toast notification code. I have set the registry setting for the user for the powershell.exe appid:

    (HKCU:SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Notifications\Settings\{1AC14E77-02E7-4E5D-B744-2EB1AE5198B7}\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe\)

The toast notifications are not displaying. When I run get-startapps I noticed that powershell.exe is not listed?

I tried another computer with an administrative logon and everything works fine and get-startapps shows powershell.exe.

Why would get-startapps not show powershell.exe for my normal user account?

    Cheers

  • What I had to do was to search for powershell.exe, right click it and 'Pin to Start'. Then it appeared in get-startapps.

  • So you deleted it from, startup at some time in the past.  Pinning it back makes it part of startapps.
