Outlook 2007 Automatic Send from based on email RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a client that is using Outlook 2007, He has an Exchange acct which also has 3 other Exchange accts that he has full permission to and 3 POP accounts. Before he used to have 5 POP accounts and no Exchange and he was able to reply to emails based on where the emails came into, but ever since we migrated him to Exchange it automatically replies from his main account and he has to go into the Send From account and pick one of the POP accounts or he has to go into Global Directory to pick the other Exchange account to Send from, which is a PIA and he also afraid to reply to an email from the wrong email address. Is there an option somewhere to work the way it did before?

If the 3 shared mailboxes are added via automapping or added as additional mailboxes from File > Account Settings > More Settings > Advanced, Outlook won’t use that address to send messages when viewing the mailbox. As a workaround, you may refer to the instructions in the link below to add the shared mailboxes as separate accounts:

Shared Mailboxes and the Default 'Send From' Account

By the way, Office 2007 has reached end of extended support, meaning there are no new security updates, non-security updates, free or paid assisted support options, or online technical content updates. It is recommended to move to Office 365 or upgrade to supported versions of Office products and services, such as Office 2019.
