Microsoft Edge RRS feed

  • Question

  • While being online, a screen popped up with information stating that we needed to call 877-884-6922 because the computer was locked because our IP address had been compromised.

We have tried to shut down and reboot and as soon as you open Microsoft Edge, the same screen comes up, yet you can go to other Internet sites such as Facebook from the Desktop.

The URL address on the top is:

Is there any suggestions or advice on whether this is for real or some type of scam and how to fix it?

  • Hello,

I'd ask in the Virus and Malware forum on Microsoft Community.

As the Microsoft Community is on a different platform, we cannot move the question for you.

Once there, click on Participate near the top of the screen, and select 'Ask a Question' or 'Start a Discussion'
