Restoring Compressed Folders RRS feed

  • Question

  • I upgraded my XP to Vista and have since uninstalled WinZip. Now my .zip files are unassociated.

How do I associate the .zip extension with compressed folders again? It is not the same as XP anymore.

    Thanks in advance.

  • I did find a solution... if you go to the site below there is a registry snippit you can merge into your Windows registry to resore the correct associations. Seems to work perfectly for Vista as well as XP. On Vista you have to be an administrator on your machine to modify the registry or right click "run as administrator".
