Hyper-V 2012 R2 Automatic Repair Loop after Windows Update

  • We have 2012 R2 Hyper-V edition running on an HP Z440 workstation with 64GB memory and two 1TB SSD's (RAID 0).

Automatic windows update is turned on and when it reboots to apply those updates, about half the time it ends up booting to automatic repair over and over again.  I can use F8 to boot to safe mode, shut down and then it's fine again.  I have two of these machines with identical hardware and they are both doing it periodically.

Is there anyway I can prevent or automate this process so it doesn't keep borking the server every few weeks?
