Where is the default Project Site Issue content type in PWA? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We need to modify some values of existing columns in the default Project Site Issues content type, but have been unable to find it to change, under the site columns in PWA.

Is there any other approach to make modifications (just additions to choice values) to existing columns in this content type?

  • I come across with the same issue and I ended up writing a script to modify all the projects' site. Do share if you find solution with the content type and be careful while making changes to the values as these are keep syncing with the Reporting database.

  • You need to customize the Project Site template.

  • Hello,

The Project Server project site list fields are part of sealed content types, you cant modify these in the interface. As Gary said, the approach would be to add your additional values / fields to those fields on the lists and save that site a new template. See Brian's post on creating a new site template:

    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/brismith/archive/2010/03/15/customizing-the-project-site-in-project-server-2010.aspx

Fully test the new template before using in Production as changing / removing some default fields can break certain functionality in Project Server.

    Thanks

  • We already have a Site Template that has been customized for our purpose. Now we have a requirement to modify some of the fields that are in the Issues list.

We have even already created custom content types to include our custom NEW Issue columns (and have custom reporting to include all of this), but the requirement now is to change the out of the box column values in Issues, which is controlled across all the different (already deployed) project sites through the Project Site Issue content type.

As Paul mentioned, this seems to be hidden, as it is not accessible on any screens or lists.  Still looking for a solution without having to change 100+ project sites.

  • Khurram Jamshed posted this: http://khurramjamshed.blogspot.com/2011/07/createmanage-issuerisk-list-centrally.html ...with some links to other posts on the topic.

I've been able to create my own content types and add them to the PWA Issues list.  You just need to add the list columns for it to work.  Since you're using content types, you can then hide those columns if you wish.

Sorry - reread the thread.  Sounds like you've already got that part figured out.  Sounds like you'll have to go the scripting route then...
