DPM 2012 Unable to Stop Protection of Member (Computer/System Protection) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have 2 protection groups that are protecting the system state of two servers. I'm trying to stop protecting them. When I right click and choose "Stop protection of member..." I get the "Remove From Group" window. I click OK, I then get the window telling me its performing the task. I see the results as "success". I click "close" and guess what? The protection group is still there. It still runs backups at the scheduled time.

    Any ideas?

  • Afternoon Rick!

Do you want to remove the protection groups all together?

If so run the power shell command .\remove-productionserver.ps1

If you just want to stop protection of he servers in the protection group. Right click the protection group select modify and remove them from the selected members window by highlighting the server and selecting remove, then select next on all the other options then select update to update the protection group.

Please let me know if this helps.
