  • Hi Onur--

for one of my customer, we have done some changes in alert templates. It doesn't need any change in project site.

    Please see the below MSDN:
    https://www.nothingbutsharepoint.com/sites/devwiki/SP2010Dev/Pages/Customizing%20Alert%20Templates%20in%20SharePoint%20Foundation%202010.aspx
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb802949.aspx
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb802738.aspx

Alert templates are stored in the Alerttemplates.xml file, which is located in the %ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\14\TEMPLATE\XML folder. Alerttemplates.xml defines the format, contents, filters, event types and properties used to create alert messages from each list type. A developer can customize alerts by modifying a copy of the Alerttemplates.xml file and then loading the customized alert templates by using the command stsadm -o updatealerttemplates.

    Hope that helps.

  • Hello Mr Amit, thank your reply. We have used OOB project risk & issues lists. (Their content types are called project site issue and risk) Since we know that these list are only availble in Project , and not available in Sharepoint.

We wanted to ask if we make these changes in the Alerttemplates. XML does it also cover the Project site issues and risks alerts  ?
