Lost phone - Authenticator App not available RRS feed

  • Hi all,

    I have been trying for 48 hours to recover my microsoft account. I have lost my phone with the authenticator app on it. My .live email still currently works but after re-installing the app on a new phone, the app asks for me to authenticate using the original phone. My only other option was via text which works and sends me a code but it still then requires the app use for the two step process. I am going around in circles with the recovery option. (filling in the form with all of my details and sending it off results in an immediate email informing me that because I have two step authentication they cannot help me. Is there seriously no way to recover an account if this happens?

    Any help would be much appreciated.
