  • Is this the Mail app you mean? If so the only way to remove the default email I have found is to remove Mail and reinstall it. That involves the Store so if that is the case check Store is working before starting.

From a PowerShell prompt (search start for power open Windows PowerShell)

    Get-AppxPackage -Name microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps | Remove-AppxPackage -Verbose

That will remove Mail and Calendar and the shortcuts. Give it 5 minutes for Store to notice, then in Store search for Mail, look the Mail and Calendar with the familiar icon and install that again. When run will prompt for email to use again.

  • Hi,

Did you mean she add the Gmail account as her one computer account?

If yes, just sign in with another account that has administrator account and remove it:

Settings ->Accounts -> Other users, under Other users section, select that Gmail account to click "Remove" button.

And then click add someone else to this PC to follow the instruction to add her Hotmail account.

If it just connect the Gmail account to one local account, just do these steps:

Settings -> Accounts ->Your email and accounts, under Gmail account information, click "Sign in with a local account instead" link to exit Gmail account and sign in with the local account.

After that, follow above steps to click the "Sign in with a Microsoft account instead" link to connect to her Hotmail account.
