modifying views in ms project 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm trying to create a new Gantt Chart view. I would like it to have different columns that what the normal Gantt chart view has. However, as i create the view and start hiding and inserting columns, i notice that it actually also changes the Original Gantt chart view.

Is there a way i can create a new view that will have my preference in columns and not change the Gantt chart view at the same time?

    THanks,

  • Hi,

One of the components of any view is the TABLE, a list of columns that will be visible. So you need to first create a new table (View, Tables, More Tables, New or Copy). What's happening now is that your 2 Gantt Chart views share the same table! So create a new one, assign it to your new view an you will no longer have the same problem.

    Greetings,
