  • Hi,

I can't say for sure about Tanberg Tape drive but in my experience as long as you are able to get the tape drive working correctly under the windows operating system where your DPM Server is running on, this tape drive will be recognized by DPM (that worked in our environment with two different tape drives which were not officially supported/tested with DPM). As long tas the tapes have not been used by some other tool bevor you should not have any problems.

So for scheduling long term protection just modify the protecting group and also choose long term protection and configure your retention range (weeks, months or years) and how often (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly) you want to have your tape backups.
