Removing old Outlook mailbox RRS feed

  • Question

  • On the local computers exported the current outlook pst to a temp folder.  Moved customer to exchange online.  Configured the new Exchange/outlook mailbox on each computer.  Imported the old pst to new mailbox.

    I am having trouble removing old mail box.  There is an error about a special folder and the mailbox can't be deleted.  Is there a work around for this?

  • Hi Rustic,

    Thanks for contacting us. We need more information to clarify and locate your problem.

    Could you let us know the exact error message you came across? Which mailbox do you want to delete?

    You can remove it as below steps:

    1. Open the Control Pane;
    2. Find Mail icon then double click it;
    3. Select E-mail Accounts and click “E-mail Accounts…” button;
    4. On the E-mail tab, select the account you want to remove then click “Remove” button;
    5. Click Yes and exit window.

    If it still pop out that error, please locate that special folder then reset it as below:

    Click WIN+R->type into search box: outlook.exe /resetfolders

    In addition, could you locate the special folder and could you delete/rename it?

    Best regards,

    Karen Hu
