Cannot eliminate underscore, color in writing a doc. RRS feed

  • First time problem.  Adding to an existing text doc, I seemingly hit some WRONG button and now font and color changed and all new is underscored.  I've attempted to highlight new wrong work and change color, etc.  All to now avail.  Problem is only on Word, not on text in Outlook.  I use Microsoft 7 on an HP pc.  Help.  My Email has changed to d.feller@frontier.com  since I set this up.  Verizon address is now dead.  Don

    Your description suggests you've activated 'Track Changes'.

    You don't say which version of Word but, since its on Win 7, it's probably Word 2007 or 2010. In that case, if 'Track Changes' appears on the status bar, click on it once to turn it off. If it doesn't appear there, right-click on the status bar and add 'Track Changes' to the Status bar, then turn it off.

    If you're using Word 2003 or earlier, the 'TRK' button on the Status bar should be grey. If it's black, double-click on it to turn it off.
