HELO response problems RRS feed

  • Question

  • System description: Microsoft Exchange 2003 Standard running on native mode network with Active Directory. ISA Server 2004 publishing the Exchange server on outbound IP as mail.mydomain.com (For OWA).  Authoritative DNS has my IP address listed as mail.mydomain.com with PTR records for other issues.  www.mydomain.com is hosted by ISP other than the one supplying internet services.

Listed on Composite Blocking List due to HELO response errors.  HELO responds with servername.mydomain.local (What Microsoft suggested as  my internal domain name) HELO is wanting mail.mydomainname.com as a respnse and since it is not getting that, it rejects emails and these in turn caused my email listing on CBL.

Any ideas on how to change the HELO response to mail.mydomain.com from its current repsonse of the server's FQDN?

    Thanks,

    Terry
