  • Hello,

If you are sure you ahve .net framework 3.5 on the server running Japanese OS, please follow the below alternative procedure:

    1. Download the self extractable (SetupVMMSSP.exe) to your local server.

    2. Double click / execute the self extracting executable (SetupVMMSSP.exe) that you downloaded in Step# 1. That will create a subfolder with name "VMMSSP" in the current location, extract the contents of the self extracting executable and invoke the setup.exe. The setup.exe doesnt seem to be working for you since you are running on a Japanese OS with probably .net framework in japanese.

    3. Let the setup fail after doing the operation in step# 2 above.

    4. Navigate into the VMMSSP folder that was created. Double click / execute the VMMSSPV2.exe. That will start the setup application.

Please let us know if this does not work for you.

    Thanks,

  • Does the checkbox enabled for .Net framework 3.5.1 feature on the server? Portal should be able to work on Japanese OS.

    Thx

checked at ".NET Framework 3.5.1" feature of the server manager.

i tried the same operation of English Version (Windows Server 2008 R2 English).
this case is success of install.

i think issue in the check version and/or language of ".NET Framework" modules.

  • This is actually a known issue it seems currently with certain languages. The underlying services that the SSP 2.0 communicates with is the Dynamic Datacenter Toolkit VMM WCF Services. This issues is discussed in the thread listed below on the DDC TK msdn website.

In that thread, the language of Msvm_ComputerSystem.Description property is discussed.

Perhaps, the same problem will happen.
However, current problem is the install fail.
