Indexing Options, Size of Cache file RRS feed

  • Original title: Indexing Options, Size of Cache file

    Dear Fellow Users and Experts,

I am trying to add a folder that is on a NAS to the "Indexing Options" in Windows in order to make it searchable and to add it to my "Libraries" folder.

The NAS has a total size of 9TB and currently holds 5TB of data. The indexing Cache File is now taking up almost 300GB and the end does not seem to be in sight yet.

    1. Can anyone tell me how large the Cache File is likely to be so that I can make allowances, or alternatively abandon this procedure?

    2. Is there another way to do what I am trying to achieve?

Thank you for reading my post and I would very much appreciate any advice you can give.
