Excahnge 2013 - Unified Messaging - Certificate about to expire RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have exchange 2013 running with all roles on the same server. I got a warning stating my certificate is about to expire.

I have attached the screenshots. how do i go about generating the csr and on which server? where do i apply it?

When I click on the click on the certificate and hit renew it brings me to this.

    any assistance is appreciated.

  • You're already on the right way.

You just need to type the UNC name of the CSR, e.g. \\exch01\c$\temp\certrenew.req

The path and name does not matter. Make sure the extension is .req which means it's CSR.

  • In addition to what Li has said, after you get a certificate response from your CA, you should apply the certificate to the same server from which you have generated the csr. After which you can export it for importation to any other server that may require its use.

You have to consultant your CA since the uploading instruction is different for each CA.
